Excellent food. Less than 15 minute wait on a Friday night but well worth it. Reasonable prices are a welcome change.. Attentive waitstaff- friendly service. 5 stars highly recommend
This place is PHENOMENAL! The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, helpful and very hospital. We celebrated my son's 13th Birthday here on Friday. My 84 year old Grandma uses a walker, and everyone in the restaurant was very courteous to us when we went to the restroom. Parking was funny. It's so busy here, you do have to drive around the parking lot until a spot becomes available, or you can park at me of the surrounding building's spots. (IT'S A GOOD THING; MEANS EXCELLENCE). I highly recommend eating here. You will not be disappointed. Prices are PERFECT for the quality and amount of food you get .
Good food at a great price. We went for lunch and had the very spinachie spinach dip, steak and shrimp, a Grilled chicken salad, double chicken breast with mashed potatoes and broccoli. We even shared a bit of the Key Lime pie. Everything was delicious and came out quickly. Highly recommend this place, we will be going back.
Fantastic place!! I was on my way back home from St. Louis and found this place on the way. The restaurant was nice and clean, the staff were very friendly and they were busy! I sat at the bar and was served immediately, I had the 10 oz. sirloin with a baked potato and steamed broccoli. The steak was grilled to perfection and juicy! The sides were excellent as well, this place is very well ran, nothing took long and I was in and out within 30 mins because I had to get back on the road. THE PRICES are amazing! It was for less than $20 for all that food! If you're in Springfield MO, this place is a must!!
These tacos came out swinging with bold flavor and bright color. FD’s took crispy chicken, coated it in a Sweet Asian Chili style sauce, and built a taco that delivers heat, sweetness, and crunch in every bite. And as always, the service matched the food — Ciara B. goes above and beyond for her guests, the hostesses are consistently amazing, and together they uphold the superior standard I’ve come to expect from the front‑of‑house to the kitchen.
This is one of those places where you can’t believe how incredibly reasonable the prices are for the quality of food and service you get. Honestly, the prices feel like they’re from 10 years ago. While in Springfield, MO last week, I stopped into FD’s Grillhouse — and it ended up being a fantastic experience. I was greeted immediately and seated in a booth, just as I requested. Within a couple of minutes my server arrived to take my drink order and appetizer. I went with the house side salad and the shrimp gumbo. After looking through the menu (and second-guessing myself with all the tempting options), I finally chose the Dijon Mushroom Chicken. The salad and gumbo came out quickly, and both looked and smelled amazing. That shrimp gumbo took me right back to Louisiana — honestly better than some of the gumbo I’ve had down there. Just as I finished my appetizer, my entrée arrived. The Dijon Mushroom Chicken was cooked perfectly, with a great little twang from the mustard glaze. I enjoyed it so much I almost ordered a second one. And the best part? My entire meal plus a Diet Coke came to just $21. You can’t beat that. FD’s Steakhouse is definitely going to be a regular stop for me whenever I’m in Springfield. Make sure you give them a visit if you’re in the area. Grub Score 8.7/10.0
Thank you so much for the wonderful experience Lisa. It was great to meet you on our way out. We showed up on Mother's Day and it was hopping! They do not take reservations but have a great check in system that is run very efficiently. Everyone there was working hard and working together. Our wait was very short. Then we got seated. Hailey, our server, was super pleasant. We felt like she just started the day in spite of being very busy. Our food was served in short order and was served hot, fresh and as we ordered it. I also want to point out that the food is prepared fresh, nice portions and reasonably priced... Actually better than reasonable. Nothing but great thoughts about this experience... We will definitely be back!
Quite a wonderful experience! Went for my birthday on the weekend and the place was quite busy! Luckily, we joined the waitlist when driving over so we had no wait to get a table. Service was very good, though we didn't receive any re-fills after we got our main food. The breading they used on both the Crispy Pickles and the chicken tenders was AMAZING! I would heavily recommend the pickle chips and the salmon - as well as the gumbo! Really nice atmosphere, it was calm and fancy inside - as well as very warm. Great bang for your buck, especially considering that it's right next to Texas Roadhouse.
Cedar Plank Salmon, Firecracker shrimp are incredible choices. Anthony M was our waiter and is an all star. Superb service. Best thing is you get insanely good quality for the price. I’d consider coming to Springfield JUST for this place. Amazing
I have to add to the effusive praise heaped upon this establishment. Pickle chips were LITERALLY the best I've ever had the good fortune to put into my mouth. Had the ruby red trout scampi style. It was prepared perfectly, seasoned well, the bed of rice it was plated on was also a delight. The shrimp stop as well as the mashed potatoes were good, not amazing, but still very good. The side salad I had with it was unusual for a side salad in the very best of ways. It was large and had a variety of mixed greens as well as many additional items such as cucumber matchsticks, cherry tomatoes and candied nuts. The dressing was fresh and bright (lemon herb). The portions of everything was unusually sizeable, especially given the prices. Our server Anthony is supremely talented at his job, was always on point, and very personable. And the key lime pie was simply delightful, tart, fresh and not sickly sweet the way that they often are. The cherry sauce served as part of the plating was an unusual yet much appreciated counterpoint to the pie. I have nothing negative to say about any aspect of this meal. Honestly it was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. I've included pictures but all of them came well after we had started eating it.
